I read this piece by Dr. Klien and have to say as a pro-pornography, pro-sex work feminist I take issue with it.
My main issue with it is the title “Porn Addict or Selfish Bastard? Life Is More Complicated Than That”.
Yes, Marty: It is more complex than that. And yet you’re answer/reasoning is ‘everyone does it, it means nothing.’
That’s not talking about it’s complexities… It’s a one size fits all answer; the same type you seem to be pointing out as problematic.
It brushes off other answers, as well as legitimate concerns by pegging women who have issues with men watching porn as rather hysteric/non-nonsensical. It doesn’t sit well with me. Not one bit.
