[trigger warning: torture, sexual torture, grossness]

Bayonetta is a problematic game. Regardless of if you like it or not, as a feminist it is undeniably problematic. However, I feel really unfomfortable that peoples issue with the game are things to do with the main character herself, because for me the most fucked up part is not Bayonetta being sexy.

It’s the gential death torture used on the most female gendered bad guy in the game.

Yep. You heard me. One of the bad guy “angles” is called Joy which has a highly sexualized ‘female’ body- genital chain cameltoe and all (Picture). You kill her (not sure if its mandatory) by strapping her upon a whats known as a wooden horse, a variant of the judas cradle, which is regarded as one of the most horrific torture devices.

So while you kill other bad guys with neutral, yet still horrible torture devices; you kill the sexualized ’female’ bad guy by using sexual torture.

It’s sole purpose was to main genitals inside and out. It is a sexual torture device, and I can’t stand the fact that the most gendered angel is the only one who dies via a device that is ONLY used to main genitals- a sexual specific torture. (Video HERE but I DO NOT RECOMMEND WATCHING IT).

That part that is worse to me is that, no one seems to care, or have noticed that I’ve spoken too. This is one part of the game I find horrific and absolutely unforgivable. I had to get someone else to pay it for me, and was so horrified I couldn’t play the game for around 2 months after that boss came up. This is the reason I don’t recommend anyone play Bayonetta, and personally I find this the most offensive part of the game.
