My desire isn’t for a world full of hip alternative strip clubs, run by “sex-positive” or “radical” bosses, populated by Chomsky-spewing customers whose desire for “authenticity” necessitates an increasingly emotionally-invasive performance of enthusiastic consent

also an addendum to the hunger games slide, when they put out a casting call for the role of Katniss, they specifically asked for only caucasian actors to audition, which left out any possibility for any amazing PoC actors to have been discovered.

i hope this was informational and i didnt leave anything major out. if anything is wrong or needs to be updated, message me and i’l fix any fallacies!

trigger warning: street harassment, sexual harassment

    CairoScene.com writes:

A shocking video has been released by the UN, putting viewers in the shoes of an average female in Egypt and the sexual harassment she’s faced with around every corner. We say, it’s about time.

    it’s about fucking time.

there was a quick piece on npr in which a reporter caught up to and spoke with a young male who had been catcalling her. she repeatedly tried to get him to empathize, and all his shit brain was capable of discharging was “oh i can’t think, ‘what if i were a woman?’, that would never happen. it’s all in good fun, yknow? we’re just having fun. you’re so beautiful.”

my blood pressure had never been higher

This is for EVERY CULTURE. Don’t dismiss it because they’re not speaking English.

If you think this hasn’t happened to a woman you know, doesn’t happen every day in your city, or hell, if you’ve DONE this, pay attention.

As your female friends. Ask them what they do. How they think. Be aware. EDUCATE YOURSELF.

And some women do call themselves “humanist” while claiming they are working for a more equitable society. The big problem with that, though, is that no group is identified as disadvantaged. There is no pattern of racism, there is no pattern of sexism, it’s just one unfortunate individual after another experiencing some random bit of misfortune. The “humanists” are simply too wishy-washy to identify the aggressor or his pattern of aggression, which renders them unable to stop the pattern of aggression committed by a repeat offender, but that title does allow “humanists” to feel good about themselves in spite of their worthlessness.

Also why feminism is not “equality for both genders.” Feminism is liberation for women.
